Yesterday I had a bit of time to run about and take some pictures. I started on Farmington Road at the old work camp (the razor wire). After that, I drove around everywhere looking for subject matter. Once again, I found a couple of creatures to shoot, and other... stuff?

Brian, we really need to take a road trip and find more random things.

The next set of shots were taken in the warehouse district in Peoria. This was a building at one time. Now it sits waiting for a bit of attention. I don't know if there are plans to re-build or not, but I hope "they" leave this gem alone.

A random collection of shots from last night, and today. Most of these are from areas near Komatsu, except for the fountain. The fountain is at Midstate College, and yeah, it is an afterthought of a design. Notice the huge PVC pipe jutting up from the right. Stupid people...

Tonight I went to a couple of cemeteries, and wow... That is a different thing to do. It is not that going is scary, it is just so quiet. The silence at Springdale was just creepy. No birds, no crickets, no nothing. Anyway, it did make for a good time, and some good pictures.

The next couple of shots were using two off-camera slave flashes triggered by my on-camera flash using both flash curtains. The slave flashes were to the left, and one was bounced of an adjacent tombstone.

I don't know why I like this one so much, but I do. The composition is shit, but I like the lines of the horizon in contrast to the lines of the statue base. Other than that, I just like it.

The next two I shot pretty much for my father. He is a Mason, so I thought that he might like these. The spine of the book lines up with the center of the square on the seat. There must be a conspiracy here...

This is a continuation from the post below. These are a few that I forgot to add... Hey, deal with it! As you can see, the 200 now has a nice stainless steel header, & I finally took some pictures of the deck gun/flack gun/AA-Gun/whatever you wanna call it.

I thought that it was too nice of a day to waste by sitting inside, so I had to get some shots in before the day was gone. I think that only people from Canton will know the locations of a couple of these.

I guess that someone needs to tell me what the deal with "Photobucket" and "Blogger" is... The past few sets of pictures I posted up have all turned out crappy. On my home computer and work computer, the originals look great, but when uploaded, they look like shit. Is the the compression of the files or am I doing something wrong here?

Anyone?

This is the second time that I have tried to upload these, and they still look horrible. Oh well...

I finally made a remote shutter release, so I had to test it out. I ran around last night going to various places to shoot some nigh time shots. I also decided to play with f/stops and some custom settings on the camera. Some turned out good, while others... Not so much.

Anyway, a word of advice: Lens filters such as a UV filter can bounce light between the camera lens and filter giving halos and flares. I did not notice anything until I started processing the pictures. So, that pissed me off that a quarter of my shots had been ruined. I suppose there is always next time though.
